Under the direction of Jamie’s mother, Jackie Lonto, we have established the Jamie Lonto Music Scholarship fund. This scholarship is intended to benefit underprivileged, lower-income families, and families struggling to make ends meet, so children can enjoy the gift of music at Music Elements or a Music college. All donations are greatly appreciated. The Jamie Lonto Scholarship Fund is our way of keeping Jamie and the love of music we shared with him alive. All donations are greatly appreciated.

Jamie was a very talented musician. He was both a bass and keyboard player in a number of bands over the years. “Alive and Kickin’” was the most recent band in which he played bass. Jamie was classically trained, yet performed all genres of music including classical, jazz, rock, pop, soul, funk and improvisational. He also scored arrangements. Jamie was a member of the National Piano Guild through the Peabody Conservatory (’76-’79). He had Studio Recording Experience and performed with National Recording Artists and the Grammy Award winning producer Fletch Wile. Jamie loved to play music and was an amazing teacher. He taught students to read music, play with dynamics, the structure of music, and also how to hear the music. Jamie had a wonderful way of putting both adults and younger students at ease and taught them to love their journey with music. Jamie was always about kindness and music. He was a beautiful presence at the school. This is our great loss at Music Elements and we miss him dearly!
